Protecting my Dad, by Rufuz

I protect him, he loves me, a fair trade off...

Protecting my Dad, (by Rufuz)

Sleeping in front of his bed,

Licking the stuff off of his head,

Going in first to the shed,

Eating the green off the bread,

Walking with him but just ahead,

Making certain he doesn’t tread,

Anywhere he would be unsafe,

A place I would certainly dread…

This done cause daddy is my alpha dog,

He is also my master, my boss; he has tasty feet,

But in the end, he is more so my friend,

Brushes me he does, as much as he can,

Keeps me fed, & gives me freezing cold water,

I also love the ice cubes he gives me in hot weather…

So for him I do protect,

If someone comes near, someone I do detect,

I keep him at bay with a growl or bark,

Until we both find he is not someone to suspect,

As I love my dad, as he does me, both of us feeling mutual respect…

Wonderful, Ed! Mutual respect among all beings in our lives is what we should all seek as we journey through life.

PS What kind of 'stuff' does Rufuz retrieve from your head?!
