Self-Guilt Trip

Okay so now the self guilt trip hits me, just another in a series of recent problems...But Rufuz is okay, or so it seems...that is the good part!

Self-Guilt Trip…

I could have kept him from the field,

With a snap of my fingers, a word would have sealed,

His desire would have still been there,

But he obeys & trusts his daddy,

Now I am guilty of allowing him in with the horsies,

I will be so, most likely till he is all well and healed…

His wound is already covered over with skin,

He still seems rather reluctant to run and play,

But he is already back to biting his old dads shin,

Still in all, he is like the sunshine to me, yes a ray…

So how do I get past this guilt I feel,

For his almost demise, for the horse I wanted to steal,

Doubt I would have done any of it; the horse would still be alive,

What good would it have done, the horse was just being an animal?

So Rufuz did survive, have to give him a doggy high five,

He did battle the horse and sort of won,

Running away with tail between his legs, did my son,

Better to do so and be around to fight another day, oy vey!

Stuff happens, we learn from it and we learn to let it go. That is how you let guilt go.

How to avoid guilt, you ask??? Try this, Ed, me sweet: When guilt enters your head (or worse, your heart) ask yourself this: "by feeling guilty, by using valuable life energy to regret or beat myself up, will I find a way to UNDO anything? Can I go back and do it differently?" If you answer "no" (which is the only answer there is, unless you can time-travel back (can you???) then move forward. Learn to turn even the 'down times' into positive things... life may seem to be short, but you can add much length to it when you celebrate even a minute of it by learning who you are by truly living every moment. If you can't change something, either learn to accept it or just move past it. And don't forget to smile... that's free! (grin) Here endeth the lesson for today. (Isn't she annoying...? Ms know-it-all.. hehe) katy xox.

No guilt trip necessary, Ed. Rufuz did what he does; and the horse did what he does, and hopefully, it sounds like a happy ending.

Rufuz and you both learned a valuable lesston, too.
