Daddy took me for a Long Ride…by Rufuz

A long ride I did take, with my daddy in his car,

We never did stop at any bars,

Although there was this place that sold stars,

Daddy bought me one and named it after something bizarre…

We drove thru the mountains in West & Virginia,

We drove in the heat in Kentucky till the cool breezes did reach us,

The temperature was in the upper 80’s then down to the mid 50s,

What a difference it made on my desire to be frisky…

Love to play with dad when traveling,

But have to be careful not to play when he is driving,

As he gets upset when he has to swerve to avoid,

Hitting another car, when I am nibbling on his hand, he does get annoyed…

I got to see my Uncle Scott & Aunt Bobbie and their cat,

Spooky did not like me visiting them, she hissed and put up her back,

I just wanted to play, their other cat, she let me,

This cat is just stuck up, like her back seemed to be whenever I came near…

I got to go for a ride with Aunt Bobbie; she took me to see her old people,

They were real nice too; giving me treats and pats on my head,

We went to a big store, I was left in the car, but I barked and kept,

The other people away, don’t be messin’ with Aunt Bobbie’s car, they then wept…

The trip for me was one of pleasure,

I slept most of the time, as it was a time of leisure,

Daddy had a good time too; I made sure of that,

Whenever he got comfortable I dragged him out for a walk,

He seems to like my doing that, calls me a pain in the ass,

That’s a good thing isn’t it?

Calling me after something he sits on, herein I just ask…?
