I am well, just ranting, could have gone on for pages tonight...

Haven’t Had a Thought in Years…

My brain it must be disconnected or so I do fear,

Not even can I elicit one lousy tear,

My life of late being so austere,

But onward I do go; I try so hard to persevere…

That’s right not one thought,

From this brain so unconnected,

Not one idea from my muse have I wrought,

All my internal efforts have gone for naught,

Don’t get too upset, I am not in any way distraught…

Nothing can I do to give myself a higher cognitive process,

Though herein I really must personally confess,

I do refuse to allow the self to turn around, yes regress,

I try my level best, not to permit myself to, on anyone, transgress…

So take this for what its worth,

Nothing for now herein has any kind of mirth,

I try to follow the teachings of Mr. Firth,

His semantics making him a well-known linguist,

Just wish do I this could end with some kind of twist…

Ed, for someone who claims never to have had a thought in years, you always seem to pen the poetic right stuff again and again, my gifted friend. I enjoyed this piece as I have many of the other timeless treasures you have posted. Take care and be well. Peace thru writing!
