You put me out on the leash,

Yes I do so love the cold,

But then you do forget me there,

Writing poetry you are,

While I need a walk, sheesh…

I love you dearly, dear dad of mine,

But sometimes you just don’t treat me very fine,

My dinners of late have been rather scant,

I realize money is tight,

But I need sustenance before I waste away out of sight…

Mommy came over yesterday and bought me food,

Thankfully that happened as I had thought you might be sued,

My lawyer called, he hoped I was okay,

He had not heard from me since way back in May…

You know I love you with all my doggy soul,

Just sometimes you seem to forget to take me for a morning stroll,

My life I would give for you, you know that is my goal,

I crawl up with you in bed, and help to you, console,

I give you all this and more; please don’t forget me, though I know you really don’t,

I love taking rides, I love playing and running in the oceans tides,

I want to be with you all of my life and more,

I worry about you, when you don’t come outside,

After putting me on my leash in the morning,

I swear to you I don’t want to do any, for you, mourning…
