Movement Through Time…

Wish I may, wish I might,

See all the friends I have known throughout my life,

All in one place, all in one time,

Kids I played with when I was but a child,

Guys I did drink with when I was so wild…

Past acquaintances,

People I hardly did know,

Back through time I would have to go,

Bringing them all to one moment in time…

They would not age,

Nor would I get younger,

All the boys I did know as a kid,

School chums, teachers, high school bullies,

All coming forward in time to meet each other,

I could again get to see a deceased brother…

A time shifting machine we would need,

We could all ride it as if mounted on a steed,

No time it would take to bring them forward,

Just a blink of the eye and they would be here, such speed…

What would we discuss, all these friends?

Maybe how time does change us all, how we do transcend,

We all do change the older we do get,

At one time I did drive a Corvette, now I want a Mercedes Benz,

With age comes change,

As change is a constant,

This idea from a dream that was really quite strange…

I do remember lots of school friends and am going to reunion picic to see some of them June 21 08. What fun our school days were. At our grad the speaker said they would be remembered as the best days of our lives. He was write, I ponder on them lots. aS to the car, I'd love a convertible again at age 63, but won't be able to afford one now. Was my first car a 1962 Chevy Corsica Champayne color convert. Loved it and that is how I attracted my 1st husband, who divorced me in 1984. Sad times, but happier came about. Always remembering old friends though.

I can't explain it, Eddie M, but this gave me goosebumps... actually, not the theme, which is really interesting... but your delivery of the theme. You had me saying Hmmmmmmmm... and then WOW.

You can have your Mercedes, though... I want the same car I wanted when I was 16... a VW Beetle.. ORANGE! NOT the new kind, the OLD kind. Thanks. katy xox.

I would like that too. A time machine that I can go back to the past to see my school friends, then to the future to see what I will be like.

Great write, Ed!

Not so strange, Ed. I would love to do the same; as I bet many others would, too. A Time Machine would be marvelous.

Although I want a Hummer now, not a Mercedes.
