Freedom is precious...

We all can’t Write…

We all cannot write,

Like Hemingway or Frost,

Hell, I cannot even write like myself, I get lost,

Better to become in the cold just another bit of frost…

But as long as we do write as we like,

No big brother peering over our shoulder,

No teacher with a ruler at the ready,

No pain of torture for writing the wrong thing expected,

Then we can say in the end, we did as we wanted,

We did write as we saw fit, and for that we were respected…

Well said Ed, all should be able to write what they please, others may disagree what they say. but surely not with the right to say it.

i believe in the freedom to write what i please but i agree with eileen, personal attacks are not what writing here is all about. thing is, i here a lot about dissension here, but i never see it...maybe i'm just lucky to have missed it

I will repeat myself like a parrot!!

Don't worry be happy...I write what I feel..and see what I write for real the moment I posted it...and sometimes to my own surprize not bad at times...it even makes me cry...realizing who and what I really am..lol!!

A fool with feelings way too deep!!

I agree, Wonderful thoughts put to poetry Ed!
There is a caveat;-) We should be able to write
whatever we want, but personal attacks of ones
character should not be allowed.

Personal attacks lead to battles because the accuser
leaves the accused no choice but to respond. If the accused
does not respond, some accusers think they can continuosly
write lies and innuendoes therfore, the accused must put
an end to the attack with truth, hoping the readers will
understand!Hi Rufuz woof woof arf;-)

Love, Eileen

You've written this very well, Ed, and your old teacher would be proud - freedom to write what we wish to write is very precious.

But you've also just given me a flashback to those mean old nuns I had in grade school - they carried wooden yardsticks - Ouch!
