A journey thru his past...

1979…

He did finally go away to jail,

His life up to that point he did fail,

He was in his head a twelve year old and frail,

But he understood himself enough to refuse bail…

Thankfully for therapists and psychologists alike,

He finally did admit his past, only after a little strike,

He found that therapy was something he did like,

He traversed his way through the muck and mire in his head,

He did release the feelings that were stuck behind his personal dike…

Three years did pass,

So much to go through, so much to surpass,

He did find eventually that he actually had some class,

Poor he, he did know of himself quite well from the past,

It was hard to live on his own; but he managed to do so with little sass…

You do know the semi-finished product,

He cannot say he will ever be totally cured,

Took many years for him to reach this of himself construct,

Through his life he surely found that he endured,

He won’t go back to his life before, of that you can be assured…

I wonder who he is too and 1979 was a banner year for me. I got married to my husband. But in so many ways you are very correct when you say we cannot go back to who we were.

ed,

wondering who "he" is
of no consequence, but
knowing he recovered
lends hope and beauty to
your words

thanks,
d.
