When will they make pills to allow me to forgive myself?

Self-forgiveness is the hardest thing...

When will they make pills to allow me to forgive the self…?

Pills for pain,

Pills for gain,

Pills for loss,

Pills for your food to toss…

Pills to make you happy,

Pills to make you a pappy,

Pills to make you mellow,

Pills to help you remain a fine fellow…

Pills to make you forget,

Pills to keep you in the right mindset,

Pills to get you horny,

Pills to make you laugh and act corny…

Pills to clean out your bowels,

Pills to make you quite smart like owls,

Pills to help you to get up,

Pills to help you stay up,

Pills to help you sleep,

Damn these pills are in no way cheap…

When will they make pills to make me forget?

When will they make pills to let me forgive myself?

When will they make pills to allow me to avoid my demons…?

Allow me to introduce myself: I am your friend. I happen to think that saying it out loud is the best therapy... I listen and I don't judge. You need only ask, dear heart. Think of me as that "pill"... and I'm entirely FREE! (except where the 1st amendment is concerned... AHem! hehe) I mean this sincerely, Eddie M. Friends let friends express themselves. Got it? (smile)

As I read this poem, I kept feeling overwhelmed at the vast 'ground' you cover... god, you're a thinker! Great! katy xox

The hardest act in our lifetimes, is forgiveness of self... there is an old saying, which holds truth... "If God can forgive me, why can't I." I'm not God, so forgiveness should be bestow upon me... by me... great write

I agree with Nordette and find that the pill to forgive myself is a hard one to find indeed. One day a person told me that if I could forgive a best friend to think of myself as that friend and it would come. I do have trouble from time to time.

Forgiving self is often the hardest pill to swallow.

I love you, Ed. You are one of the sweetest men, a heart filled with humor, the grace of laughter. The soul of a brooding poet hidden beneath. You're a wonder, man. And don't you forget it, damn it!
Don't make me come down there.

A very good question - but until they do, we must all somehow find a way to forgive ourselves - in our hearts and souls and minds.
