If I could, I would, but I can't, so I won't...

Very unusual category for me to delve into...

If I could, I would, but I can’t, so I won’t…

It started with a hit,

Progressing to a bowl,

Sometimes a fat doobie,

Then came the water pipe,

My addiction deserves little hype…

I have not done so for a few months,

Though I did fall off the wagon once,

Just a quickie hit, in memory of the past,

It was almost like I didn’t like it,

But my mind knew better quite fast…

Nowadays, if I could I would but I can’t, so I won’t,

But I still might, even though afterwards I sometimes pant,

What other addictions can I end with inner strength?

Certainly not caffeine, soda I find I cannot give up,

I have tried but damn it is harder than drugs or the drink,

I hate to whine but damn, Cherry coke just puts me over the brink…

Honest, thought provoking write Ed. Don't worry too much about your love of cherry cola; we in The Den support you, and we understand because we are you.
Continued success-

I am getting hooked on diet cokes at bingo now. My hubby Tom drank them each day and I thought he was crazy for it cause I did not seem to like them so much. Took a small glass once in a while, but now at Bingo cannot get enough of it. It is addicting now.

Ed,

I can't give up my Diet Cokes. Or my smokes. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr I turn into a real BEAR! without them.

Hope you find the strength--me, too--

Keep writing--now that's one addiction I don't mind LOL

I like cherries too in everything. I do drink maybe one soft drink a day and let that be that. But having low blood sugar I usually get my sugar fix. Getting out and walking helps a lot and does not affect the shoulder right now.
