Lost my Edge…

Maybe it fell off the ledge,

The one in my head just behind the hedge,

Maybe I need, to open my mind, a dredge,

I swear to all that the wagon I have not off fallen,

I swear to you all that I have remained true to my pledge,

Though sometimes I feel the need for just one hit,

Don’t much care how good or bad is the shit…

My edge was quite sharp,

Better now I feel to play the harp,

Wings on my back or maybe scales of a carp,

A body bag is just so much of being wrapped in a tarp…

I feel I have something to say,

But cannot decipher the proper way,

Maybe if more often I did get laid,

Better yet maybe I should inhale the fumes from a can of Raid…

Huffing was never my desire,

To my nostrils I do not want fire,

Did snort just a bit in past years,

Just made me cry big puppy dog tears,

No longer would I as it brought on all sorts of, as well, fears…

Dragging this one on,

As if a biography of me since born,

Can you tell that of late I have found myself to be forlorn?

Is it this godforsaken world we live in, or on my head, the horns,

From my head I will someday allow the horns to be torn…

Have you noticed lately that I seem to be forlorn?

Yes I have - and you better snap out of it, Buckaroo, Rufuz is getting worried about you.

Things are usually not as bad as we seem to think they are, and they could always be worse than they actually are.
