The Ocean is Still There…
Took a walk,
In the ocean to talk,
She doesn’t criticize or balk,
She does speak to me on a high sensory level,
Though when alone and talking,
People have a tendency to of me gawk…
How much I did need,
To of the ocean my head feed,
She did remind me of my need,
To be friends to all, that being my downfall,
She told me to just be myself,
And she gave me a hint to go fishing off the Continental shelf…
A few hundred miles off the beach,
Out of sight of land, no one but me to take a hand,
There she did tell me to drop my line,
There I did so and sat down for quite a long time…
No other boats,
No one else to otherwise gloat,
A vast expanse of beautiful ocean blue,
Riding each wave, feeling the motion,
Had time to think, had time to enjoy a session with lotion,
So many thoughts did race through my brain,
Till my hook did attach itself to the propeller,
Time to go had come and gone,
Drifted I did off course ten or so nautical,
Forced to stay and revel at the night stellar…
No light, no sound, except the ocean waves lapping at the hull,
Gave me more time to sit and my troubles over mull,
Smoked a bone, took a quick dip, slept on the deck,
I awoke happy and ultimately quite refreshed,
After another quick dip to jar my senses,
Headed back into port with no more pretenses…

Gave me more time to sit and my troubles over mull,
And to me, that is one of the best places to mull over troubles - out on the water alone at night, whether it be the ocean or a lake - that always works for me, too.
Mama Ocean seems to give you very good advice, my friend.
