LOL at Lori's comment and I couldn't agree with her more. God is God and how we use or interpret him to be, is our own choice. I believe that we are placed here to find our own path and to (hopefully) live a good life and to hold on to our faith. That said, It is my belief that God does not exclude "crazies" from His flock, He just hopes that through sheer numbers some of us will find the path to righteousness and perhaps be able to teach by example.

Excellent write, Ed. The question many ask, why does God allow... etc. etc. God doesn't allow.... He Is. Man allows, and Man does; and both the allowers and those who oppose call on His name for their conscience. God made us and gave us free will. What we do with it is up to us; don't blame it on Him.

Well written Ed...psst...my daddy took a few of those nazi'zzz down in WW2 way back in 1940 something...I was there too but was still hanging head down and in liquidform.....lol!!

Ed, you do make some real good points within this write. I remember once when I saw a play about the violence between the Protestants and the Catholics in northern Ireland. each of parted souls from both sides appeared before the throne of God. And just as God was about to send them packing by saying to them...."Depart from me, for I know you not" They would all pipe in with each saying, "But Lord, we killed in your name, you were on our side were you not????

I have to agree with Eileen when she said that we are given free will. Man has a nasty habit of trying to justify himself by bringing God in on our side. The simple fact that cold blooded murder such as the Nazi's used in the eradication of a particular race is not of God, but of the evil that lies within the heart mankind. I did though enjoy the thoughts put forth herein.

I doubt that god endorses many or possibly any of the endeavors of mankind. The fact that men may evoke or claim inspiration from a deity for their actions speaks nothing to the existence or nonexistence of the deity. The existence of an omnipresent, omnipotent being is not dependent upon the acceptance, belief, or actions of mankind. Men never lack in their ability to find someone to blame for their folly, wickedness, or in their imagination in creating gods in their own image. That said, I enjoyed your write.

You make valid points Ed. The thing is when thinking like this we must remember that it is man that did theses things. Not God. He can't be blamed for the way man uses Him. Yet that is what people do. Blame Him as if He was the one that told us to do all those things. He created us and gave us free choice.Somehow that choice to some, means always to blame him for everything. A sad lot we are...
