Playing the name game are we, Can’t see the roses for the tree, Life is just a puddle in the grand scheme, Time does need to traverse it an engine of steam… Last life I was part and parcel of a pond, Hopefully that pond with the name Walden, Maybe a fish I was that nourished Thoreau, Or a leaf I had become a poem of Nature… My next life will I be a rose, To give beauty to those, For the most beautiful they chose, My petals carry the scent of the gardeners clothes… © ed ~ 11/27/05

Perhaps you were a branch
Eaten by a Koala
Or an icky slug
Living in Walla-Walla
Whatever you were
I think it is nice to suppose
That in your next life
You'll come back as a rose.
