Thats me on the RIGHT...

I look at my childhood, Being the only one I should, Dad & Mom had just me, Sometimes I wonder why, ya see…? Was I that bad, Did I make both of them sad, Maybe the reason dad did beat me, He didn’t want me, not knowing any other way, To alleviate his pain, he did inflict same to a major degree… Other families had many children, No harsh punishments or any type of emotional torture, Can I find with regards them growing up, The closest I felt to anyone was my pup, For pain and dysfunction did then overfill my cup… To get past old pain, One must realize it to gain, Tried when twelve to myself slain, That year was tumultuous, Memories from that time I do even now from refrain… © ed ~ 12/4/05

This is sad and much too common. Not really sure if it's worse to be the only one or singled out of the bunch.

Don't look back at the sad times dear friend...come on you are a good man...your dad was just a pain to inflict so much pain and anger on you!!

Maybe he was mad at himself not being able to have more children...and blame it on you!!

I know someone who does it to MY children...now that they are stronger and tougher...than him...his aim is on Nichol my youngest and me!!

Cannot fight the strongest...but the weakest!!

Glad you are still among us! :-) Sometimes parents only have one because for whatever reason, nature will not allow for another birth. I would of had a house full but I was only meant to raise one. Now three grandchildren.............Ya realize you have to get busy don't you? Parents love being grandparents :-)
