Yes I am a dog,

No cats in my family, at least I think not,

My mom a Lassie dog & dad maybe a German shepard,

Ears I have from a, or so I am told, chow,

Does that mean I am related to food somehow…?J

I don’t remember much of my doggie mother,

Fighting for milk with a few others, maybe brothers,

Then being whisked away to live with another,

Till that fateful day they gave me up for adoption,

They told me I had no other option…L

 

Surrounded by other breeds,

Some had papers or deeds,

I only had love as my need,

The dad & mom I have now,

Do love me and in that they do exceed…J

 

Should I go searching for my real parents?

What if they live far away by the sea called Barents?

I would be away from my daddy an awfully long time,

I wouldn’t be able to help him when he writes his rhyme…J

 

So here I will stay,

Lets face it there is no other way,

Daddy comes home and is so happy to see me every night,

I can’t take that away from him, after all it is only his right…J
