Poem Artwork

Seems only on Sunday they do rear up,

Did ya ever notice how cute they sleep, my pup,

Glad though am I, my headache did not come yesterday, yup,

Would have missed a beautiful walk & dinners cup…

I really wish not to go back to work,

That woman there is such a jerk,

Sundays I know are the day before,

I go back to that job, it is such a bore…

Rather stay at home & write till I drop,

Or take Rene’ out for rides & visit differing stops,

So much more for us to see, but summer does approach,

Sorry about my speaking about my job in this manner,

But someone has to of it reproach…

I am not down, nor depressed,

I am not unhappy, nor do I anything repress,

I just dislike of late my job, making it hard,

The only way I seem to be able to express it,

Is by being what I am, that of a relatively fair bard…

Then write on, my friend - it truly is good therapy.

Dear Ed,
I know just what you feel. I empathize and sympathize with your Sunday ordeal! My trick before was to treat Sunday as Saturday and preclude the bore. After dinner on Sunday I accepted the date and I had a good day until after I ate!

Sure sucks if someone messes up a good job for you with a bad and cruel additude. Sadly those kinds are wide-spread. Still, we hope that the Monday-blues won't be too bad! Just remember, when you leave, you leave her kind behind, but she's stuck with it! ;-)

That you are Ed...a Bard of good standing here at the Den. Keep your chin up. I think we'd all rather write than work in a grind.

Future: The Spiritual Story of Humanity by Glenn Martin

Histories of the world are generally written to either celebrate technology and science, or to herald doom. My book examines the path of the spirit in the onward rush.
