I write anything that into my head does pop, And I mean no disrespect but I notice some, Have only poems or stories that are religious in nature, I mean, at least as for me, the world does not revolve, Around God, His Son and such, it still turns & doesn’t stop… I have to wonder if those that write of & about God constantly, Are out there trying to prove to the rest, of their belief, Or are they to themselves trying to reaffirm same, Or do they think God will love them all the more to profess, Their Christianity in His sight & to the world for some kind of relief… I have all due respect of & for those that are close to God, I have to guess that to them, to write about it is mod, And maybe my lack of doing so leads me to being an old sod, Maybe & perhaps I am just being quite a bit odd, But I do not want anyone to think that I am putting up a kind of façade…? © ed ? 3/20/09

Hello Ed,

This is so beautifully woven and the message frank and honest. I like that. I think as writers we write what is closest to our hearts, and whatever that is comes out of the pen, not mindful of what others might think, because if that were the reason, we will lose our joy. I find there is no need for "proving", only the need for writing.
