Hi Ed, I guess it's one of those mysteries we have to live with. Sometimes the unfairness of it all makes me want to protest,It's like asking how can a "good" God stand by with all his supposedly "supernatural" powers and let thousands of people- Men, women and innocent children die in tsunamis and other natural catastrophes and do nothing or prevent a child from being killed while crossing a road and He is suppose to be "Our loving Father"
confronted withthese facts. I can't blame some people for becoming atheists,maybe in reality ,there is no God as we were taught but just Randomness that governs our lives.Who knows ?

The bad stay longer to have a better taste of what HELL would be like...I think!!

It is not what we preach...but what we practice...that makes the difference...whether we will receive a cotton or satin rope one day!!

If only the good die young then why should we spend good money on senior's homes they are all bad. lol just kidding. I believe as an agnostic that there is some form of higher power but not the heaven and hell type esconced by most religions. How could a just and all powerful God allow little babies and children to suffer terrible and painful diseases and die before ever getting a chance to be good or bad...that defies logic, which is what God has supposedly given us.

Mr. Ed, I've always asked WHY? It does seem like the good always has an ending, but the bad never goes away. The sentiments you express here are my own, and many others, too.

It very sadly seems like that's almost always true.

Hard to answer ... but you don't have to be one of the "baddies" if you learn to trust Him and open your heart to His knocking - behold (that is to say, I tell you the truth), I stand at the door and knock - if any man HEAR my voice (knock) and open the door, I will come into him and will sup with him, and he with me (Revelation 3:20).

There are questions I have for Him, too, as to why little children suffer ... are born so disabled they can't do anything ... why we have to grow up. :(

I can't answer for the gods but I've long thought that they just don't care.

An answer many wish to know.

"Why do the good die first..." I reckon it may be because God wants them to be with Him early and to occupy the many rooms in heaven that Jesus has prepared for them (John 14). I bet they play football in my Father's house.

I don't know the answers any more than you do, but when we get to Heaven, the answers will be revealed! Difficult question that deserves an answer, but only God knows why He allows bad things to happen. All we can do is trust in Him and lean on Him. Great philosophical piece, Ed, that will have many thinking! Well done!

Ed,only good people are in heaven,and the "good" don't have to stay on earth as long as the bad. The "bad"as we call them are given more time,because God is good,and doesn't want anyone to miss heaven,so He gives them time on earth to make their decision to follow Him. You can't make that decision after you die. It is all a case of choosing good over evil,and we have to do it while on earth,before we die. That's one answer;-)

it seems to be true--but, i know some baddies that died young too--we just don't miss them as much
