To God on high, Why do we lie… Why do we lie to mom & dad, Don’t you find that very sad… To the government we do lie, Hopefully we can away from this fly… To our spouse we as well lie, Therein making her sometimes cry… We seem to be able to our loved ones lie, While looking them straight in the eye… While we to all others lie, Are we being to any of them sly… But worst of all its when to ourselves we do lie, Hasten do we our time then to die... © ed ~ 6/4/11

When one makes a habit of lying
a person no longer knows the truth

Why? ask you, wherein
the truth would serve one better
when you can't remember your own lies

Did you ever read the story of Annanias and Sapphira in the book of Acts in the Bible? They really did hasten their time to die. The apostle Peter told them it was because they lied to the Holy Spirit. Each of the pair, at separate times, fell down dead right on the spot. It's an interesting story to read.
You are tackling a pertinent subject in this age of lies.
"What does it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?"
Thank God, He can deliver us from our sin, including lying!
