Poem Artwork

She didn’t want me anymore,

She wanted us far & apart,

She said go to your boat,

As she is your first love,

I gotta be honest I jumped at the chance,

My boat for me fit like a well worn coat…

 

On my coastal trawler I left post haste,

Alone again on the ocean, did not feel a waste,

Born for the sea, in this life there I was placed,

Born of Mother Ocean I have been graced…

 

Into open water I puttered along,

My range limited, but to the land I waved so long,

Found an island cove, far away from the throngs,

There I could live forever, alone, eating of fruit,

Wearing at most my favorite sarong…

Sounds like you put your fondest wish in a poem. If you lose the girl, I hope you wish comes true.

At least you are still wearing an old sarong,

Being naked on that island would be so wrong.



Your story reminds me of my first wife, who really wanted me gone,

I loaded my dog in my old station wagon, and rode off, into the dawn.

Edward, Edward, Edward....... What am I to do with you???? As you know, One man's daydream is another man's nightmare and me sailing off without my TV remote, air conditioner or computer (with or without my sweetie) is just completely unthinkable.... My days of foolishness are long past. What a nightmare!!!! That said, however,,,,, this was a real nice piece of work.
