Believe it or not, these tests are helpful in helping us understand our own perspectives. For example, I took a political exam and discovered that I'm strongly libertarian. However, when I compare myself to someone like Ted Cruz, I strongly oppose every word that comes out of that man's mouth. While he ends every letter with, "in liberty," I think he is a closet archconservative and doesn't even know what a libertarian is.
As for humanism. I once visited an unnamed professor who was quite full of himself. He spent some time describing himself as a "humanist." I listened to his pontification about how good he was and what he was doing, and all I could come to was that he was in it only for himself and couldn't give a ship about other people. He was strictly a hedonist, and didn't even know it.
But now I know what you are, and I like it. Keep on being human.
Dear Ed, I cannot judge you... I have to look at my own self. When I was a teenager I used to have a cursing contest with my buds. These daze every now an then one ##!! slips out. Hey, I am only human but the wife helps keep me in check. That's life and I am not unhappy with me today. That's all I got to say... woops...
You have the right to say what you want, of course, Ed. I sincerely doubt anyone in this forum would challenge that. INteresting if not too happy write.

Well.... bubba.... you've picked up a hot potato here. You may get nightmares if you think on this too long. Depending in what camp you throw down your sleeping bag, humanism can mean it's each persons duty to promote human welfare - like altruism promotes unselfish concern for others. The hand extended to those in need. It's better to give than receive. Another camp... emphasizes each persons capacity for self-realization through reason while rejecting the supernatural and religion. The ramifications of the first of course has its immediate rewards. The unvarnished ramifications of the second will be revealed the moment the spirit leaves the body.
