The best dog we could have gotten...

Rufuz and I first met,
At the office of the Ocean City humane societies vet,
He was having some up-dating on his shots,
Prior to being placed with an adopter,
He didn’t like guys too much then,
But when he met Rene he jumped up on the chair next to her,
And started kissing her & giving her loving…

To me he started to growl,
And bark and just was not happy with me,
So, on the floor I did lay,
And with his toy we did play,
And it didn’t take long for him to like me…

We couldn’t take him that day,
We were going to Chicago, so the society,
Did keep him for another two weeks,
But boy did he know who we were when in we walked,
He ran out and jumped on Rene giving her kisses,
And did the same for me, then all the way home in the Jeep,
Rufuz to us talked,
He turned out to be the best dog we could have gotten,
He still did treat guys a bit rotten,
But once he got to know them, the past was forgotten…
