from a dream...

Poem Artwork

The fly attracted to the flame,
Is it the light or the heat,
Then flies to the window,
There to meet the fly swatter,
Its death there it does meet..

The writer, he writes,
The poet does poet,
The psycho does babble,
The teenager craves orgasm,
The old man craves to be young,
All these and more related to by Jung…

Playing with the self,
A life-long obsession,
Of it there is no cure,
The player finding it quite secure…

The ticking of the clock,
Sometimes so soothing,
Others I want to of it sock,
Can take the battery out,
No more ticking,
No more clock,
No more time,
Only this rhyme…

Very psycho-introspectional. You done it! The clock ticks and the fly flies to the light, only to get burned. The poet don't know it, but he done wrote a poet?

There are times when the mockery of the time-piece drowns out everything else - Every bit as exasperating as that darned fly.
