More questions than philosophy, but no answers...

Poem Artwork

If permitted to live cleanly,
If permitted to die we were,
No drugs to keep us alive,
Let us die when due serenely…

I wouldst prefer to live a life shorter,
Without man trying to lengthen my border,
Multiple prescriptions to keep my body in order,
Leave them for others let them spend their quarters…

Calgon, take me away, from these drugs everyday,
I live because of them, but do I live for them,
Am I willing to trade them for death,
Or WOULD I actually die without them, who really knows…?

Yes, drugs keep us alive...all the drugs that are in are brain and body. Elements which made us. Yes, drugs keep us alive, ED!

Always,

I honestly don't know the answer to your question. I'm right there in the same boat with you. Just moments ago I told my wife I thought I would go off all my medication, knowing that if I wake up in the morning, I will go ahead and take them, like always. Stay well.

No doubt I have lived into my 90's with the help of drugs and still can get along with the doggies if they walk slow..

It's hard to tell if the suffering is worth it, getting older on drugs. Statistics show up until the last couple years, the average age of American life expectancy as continued to creep upward.

But no one should suffer the aches and pains of old age to sit in a chair drugged and dozing rather than just checking out when one gets to the stage where only drugs can take the pain away. That is certainly not living. But it sure helps pay for these great-looking nursing homes filled with zombie "patients."

You have my empathy, Ed. I am fortunate in that I do not rely on any prescription drugs. That being "said," it does not mean that I do not believe natural ones. ☻ Love and peace to you,

Ahhh . . . "Who really knows...?"

Who knows Ed? But until I get to where getting up in the morning isn't really worth the hassle, I'll stick with my drugs . . .
