He was great when he was still around,
He kept me centered & my sanity sound,
He & I did always on the beach play,
God, how I wish he didn’t have to go away…
He was not when with me vicious,
Also never was he ever malicious,
He protected his mom (Rene) on walks,
She and he had great one on one talks…
He certainly is missed by us as well. Rufus became often a part of your poetic experience here. Having lost my Jazz, I believe how much it hurt you when he had to leave.
Now I feel like crying. I look at my dog who is 8 years old, and I can't visualize a life without him. He gives me unconditional love. My daughters have moved out and are married, my husband is busy with work, but I have my best friend, Nounous to keep me company and happy. I can understand your pain and loss.
True love, in whatever form or manner, is an indestructible treasure, and one to be cherished. I know that kind of love, it's not with a canine friend but it makes no difference.
