Molested

I find, of late, a personal NEED to put something down on paper regarding my past...it feels great to allow this part of me to creep out...

           “MOLESTED”

Molested at an early age

Nothing but fines for the two older boys, what a crime,

Then again, time and time again into early teens

How many times forcibly molested, was I?

Under the “guise”, I must like it, per they.

Did it make me gay, not exact?

Did it hurt in long term, a definite fact!

Then to become an adult, but never really grow up,

Always a child, never to get past 12,

Peter Pan would be proud,

No one knew to look at me; I was full grown, but a child mentally,

What a shame to be stuck at 12 with no one

to blame?

If love and compassion were my parents reaction,

Perhaps I would have grown mentally as well,

But that was not to happen.

Eventually admitted to in-patient facility,

To clean out the cobwebs growing since childhood,

To learn what happened was not of my doing,

I already knew that, but never believed it.

Not looking for pity here, nor someone to pout,

Just felt the need, of late, to get this out,

It’s been 25 years, give or take, since therapy,

Finally in my life, I was able to feel relief,

Thank the gods that it came along when it did,

Because predicting what may have happened if it didn’t is pretty scary…                                          (ed)

So sorry this is your truith my man. The sad facts are one in four have been sexually something or other in their lives. We are a strong species. We overcome many things. Self knowledge is power. We must keep our power. {{{HUG}}}

Perhaps now you can achieve the growth you need now that you have let this out. It is a shame you had to suffer such things. I have to wonder if the boys that did this may once have been victims themselves. That doesn't excuse what they did. They will never learn to grow beyond it as you just have.

Ed, it's always amazing to me the numbers of children molested! having been there myself, it's incomprehensible to me to think of this. Out of survival, I learned to hide well from them, not knowing or thinking that they would go to my younger sister... the guilt and the threats and the fact that there is noone to tell that would believe it... You write of such an epidemic that is still not being heard.... You are an honorable and brave soul.... stay strong...
In Spirit,
Bear

If I could change the laws molestors, would be given stronger sentences. Even if it only happens once, it changes that child's live forever. To touch the soul of a child in a incorrect manner, in my mind is one of the greatest crimes there is. A very moving piece you have shared with us. Thank you.
