Sleep Came Fitfully…
Sleep, last night, came fitfully,
After chasing the demons,
Out of my head,
I was off to bed,
But sleep came hard,
Tossed and turned,
Felt I was being barred.
But next thing I knew,
Dreaming I was, of something new,
A churchyard with a cemetery,
Me in the middle, hanging from a tree,
With bright bulbs of Christmas,
Garland & a handwritten plea,
Hanging about my shoulders,
Wishing all a Christmas full of glee.
I seemed on that tree to be in my adolescence,
Trying to remain sane,
Without use of anti-depressants,
But found myself drawn to the dark side of the “force”
With Vader and the emperor, at my side of course…
