Rufuz is in MY Doghouse Today...

Rufuz doesn't know his own strength...

Rufuz is in MY Doghouse

          Today…

Rufuz has never been hit,

For after all the times I had been,

It did very little for me & that’s no shit.

But today Rufuz broke a handle,

Right off the side of the camper,

A place he has been tied up to,

When he went out, for the years,

We have lived here.

He apparently went after a squirrel,

I heard this big thump,

And off went the handle,

Hell, I have no idea where it went,

I couldn’t find it anywhere,

Not that it mattered,

It cannot be fixed,

Sorry to use this poem as a vent,

But if not I will remain at Rufuz, angry.

He is always such a great guy,

But ever so often he does a booboo,

And with that I ask, Who Knew?

I bet the squirrel was taunting him,

From just outside his chain area,

I can’t blame him & I hope he gave the squirrel,

A hell of a scare, but now he has no place to tie up to,

So he has to wait for me to take him out,

And in this weather, he will wait for awhile,

But he sure knew he was in trouble,

He wouldn’t walk back to the camper,

When I came out and screamed,

“What the f*** did you do?

     This is not like you!

Now he is hiding in his special place,

Up on the dash behind the curtain,

He peeks his head out every so often,

Too see if his dad is still red,

He knows that I will forget it,

And love him till I am dead…

I have a Beagle and she will destroy anything in her way to catch a squirrel she has her eyes set on, even another squirrel.

Ooh, I would not want to be Rufuz today, Ed. I am sure you can find it within yourself to forgive him, though. Where would we be without our pets?
Enjoyed the write. Grab some coffee and relax. Everything will be okay!
Love,
Jill

Ed I do believe dogs understand everything we say...he most likely got excited seeing a squirrel or something ...we had a golden retriever once...lovely dog..when the kids were younger...built a pen for him...and a doghouse...couldnt keep him down...chained him to the doghouse behind the fenced in pen...what did he do? pulled the doghouse right over pen fence with him and took off...a big heavy wooden doghouse....one never knows with animals...their instincts lead them....kind of like humans...LOL...nice one here....maybe get one of those stake things you pound in the ground....those work good...(((grin))) floria

Ed, sometimes it makes you wonder who is being punished worst.

You've probably forgiven him already, Ed. We always do!

Turbo has eaten every pair of shoes I own, except one (which I now guard with my life!). And I've gotten so mad at him; but after hiding for awhile, he shyly comes up to me and licks my hand - and I always forgive him.

(I think they know how dumb we really are!!!)
