Really sorry to offend here but I have had a day today and this was only part of it, the language in the United States is that of English...it may be screwed up a bit, but still in all it is not spanish or french or eastern european...No Understand are not the only two words in our language!

 

Learn to Speak the Language,

                    Before Coming Here…(or “NO UNDERSTAND”  are NOT the only words in the 

                                                                                                                                           English language)

Quite sure here I will offend,

But for myself I have to defend,

For quite truly I reached the proverbial end…

Of my rope as it were,

I cannot seem to find any more patience,

As if one lives here,

Speak the freakin’ language,

For I find it to be wrong,

To have to hear,

“No Understand” almost in a sing-song,

Mostly it seems, it is the Spanish-speaking folks,

Use this statement to get out of problems, or…

Others say I should take Spanish in a school,

To learn to speak to those that don't know English,

But why I ask?

Why should I learn a language that is not the spoken word?

Of this MY country of birth.

Sure if I were going to Mexico or like that,

I should learn and speak the language with some degree of skill,

But to live here, get a license to drive a car,

Rent an apartment, own a home, and work a job,

All these things and more “SHOULD” require,

A modicum use of the English language…

Not just, “NO UNDERSTAND”…   

Maybe I am wrong regards this rant,

But I really get peeved when I am not understood,

I went to all 12 years of school,

Then to college to be understood,

Why cannot people that want to reside,

In this great country where we don’t have to hide,

Not do the same, at least 6 months in an English class,

But fat chance, they just get what ever it is they want,

First from the federal government, then from the local,

Then they cannot say what it is they need,

And are given it to them all the same,

Almost like giving to them the deed,

To our country, just because they are under privileged,

Oh what a shame, I have to work, I have to pay bills,

As do we all, but they get welfare, etc…

Just because they “NO UNDERSTAND”…

Send them all home to the south,

Erect a 50-foot fence across our southern borders,

Electrify it and patrol with guard dogs,

And make sure it goes down a few yards into the ground,

No digging under it just cause the sign is in English,

I “NO UNDERSTAND”, why can I not invade your country?

Because, you…

                 !“NO UNDERSTAND”!
