Vanity or Self-Confidence...?

More of a question as to how I am, and I don't want to put anyone off, I don't want to appear truly vain...

Vanity or Self-Confidence…?

When I write a story or poem,

I always think its,

Just so perfect,

Just so right,

Just so great,

Just so bright…

Hell, I really must after all have a brain,

Isn’t it though a shame?

All the rest are so lame?

No offense ever meant, from this end of the Den,

Just a thought herein stated,

From the emptiness of my drain…

How could I be so vain, I ask myself?

As no one answers, I assume I must somehow be right,

As no other voices pipe up, I know there is some light,

Somewhere in there,

Amongst all the blight and some of the delight.

Self-confidence is good,

Maybe, thusly, I should wear a hood,

When explain I must this vanity, so, by me, misunderstood…

Very thin line between the two, Ed. Be careful which way you lean--we all must take care at that point. But then again, if you don't stand up for yourself, who will? Nice point. b

Brain?
Drain?
Brain-drain?

Truly vain?
Or totally insane?
Are you from Brisbane?
