Hey, Dad, Open the Damn Door…
Dad, you let me out at night to go pee,
You know I am out there for all to see,
I take care of my business; I do it by the tree,
Right home I come, or so you tell me,
But when I get there, the door is closed,
Hey, Dad open the damn door, cold are my toes…
I stand by the door, waiting for you to open it,
I hear you typing away and forgetting me, shit,
Oops, I did not say that, you just there stuck it,
Hey, who is writing this poem, you or me?
Well, it’s about time,
Yes, I want to come in, what do you think?
I should have what, I should have said something,
How do you suppose I talk over that weird music?
You got playing in there to relax you, or so you say,
I think you just got it on to upset me, you know I like it quiet,
Fine, if that is the way you want it,
You can sleep out on the couch,
No way you’re getting the bed tonight,
Not after leaving me out in the cold, cold night…
