Remember to vote

There once was a fellow named John...
who had some interesting things to say.
Words we should... but don't
live by even to this day.

It was he who said...
"In my many years I have come to the conclusion
that one useless man is a shame,
two is a law firm,
and three or more is a congress."

It was he who said...
"Old minds are like old horses:
you must exercise them
if you wish to keep them in working order."

It was he who said...
"Remember, democracy never lasts long.
It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself.
There never was a democracy
that did not commit suicide."

It was he who said...
"Posterity!  You will never know
how much it cost the present generation
to preserve your freedom.
I hope you will make good use of it."

So who was this fellow named John?
He was a man of founding father's fame.
John Adams was his name.

One can select comments from history that support almost any viewpoint. What is important is what is appropriate for our time. I agree that we all have two vote if we want leaders who will respect both our heritage and our future.

Ahh...your indulgence into American history is well received. John Adams brings out a thirst for Samuel!
