A few passing thoughts.... An introspection at the end of a year. When you sum up your past and look into the future and beyond.

When I was young and going strong

I wondered why  we need new babies born

I felt these helpless beings were so cumbersome

O for the life and time wasted in childcare

To bear them and then to bring them up

A good many years of care giving is the outcome

Until the day when I had my own

Then the mind set changed by its own

“Now I want to live for them”

Today I sit writing all by myself

I know the boys are there at my beck and call

If  my works do not see the light of the day

And In my lifetime  not be known

I know my twosome will leave no stone unturned

And their mother’s works will come up posthumously

The title of this poem says it all. I agree!
With our grandchildren, we are young again!
We can really have a ball. What FUN!
