Some real stories I came across in life in verse form ....

Poem Artwork

A mistress with an illegitimate child

Is pained  in love for the state of her offspring

One that is her own cute love child

Is hated for the sweet passion  of her dying love

For  her beloved in whom she trusts  for life

The man she gave her  heart, much love and care

Has fathered her child but cannot be  there

In the eyes of the world , he  is a criminal  sly

So what should he do , divorce his wife

First marriage to go and children five

But will that solve  the problems high

Leave own children and  make the first wife cry

Then how does he solve this complication while

It is a dilemma that many  cannot abide

Four breasts, or two wives under a roof will not thrive

Unless you  are an Arab who is used to  having many kids and wives

Each with reverence and love he  gives his share

The  wives and children obey and care

In one faith it is taboo, another it is fine

How can man be so different,  all of a kind

Strange are the ways of some wonderful beings

All is a matter of understanding little further on of life

Once there was a gentleman in Christian faith.

He was nearing his twilight years

And a good life he had spent with care

But his old loving wife was barren and   were sad

He happened to have a child out of wedlock

And found  in a fix for it was not done!

He raised the child above as if to pray

And asked God what should he do?

He ran to the priest asked him his help

The priest baptized the child and mother together

The child got a home and the mother was at peace

The three lived happily ever after, with the child they got busy

Then the old man and the old lady passed away in due time

Now the young  child grows up to marry and life goes on

Stories like these are true and many

The twisted tales of man and his honey

There is this story  now of a man who did not marry

His mother, a widow and he her only child

He was  only fourteen when his father died,

He was raised by his single mother

He didn’t marry for the love of his mother

She got old and died last year,

 And he a famous  doctor

Passed away  soon  a year later

No relative  came to claim his body

The law  allowed no friends  to do so

So in the morgue his body lay unclaimed for weeks

Until some way  it was finally dealt

“Tell me not in mournful numbers, Life is but an empty dream”- Henry Thoreau

I think that life would be extremely boring, if we were all the same and one of a kind.

The rules of society create many dilemmas as you have pointed out in these anecdotes. A more flexible and loving set of relationships should evolve in due time as religion's grasp on life loosens and true compassion enters governmental service. These dilemmas have been around a long time but they are not endless. We have the power to change them if only we change to accept them and solve them.

Ahhh . . . Life is made much more complicated by man than it should be.

Nothing is out of the ordinary for such tales. It does happen to many men and women. Believe it or not, life has a way of solving its own problems.

In olden China, men can have many wives, they are called concubines, and many men have several wives. This went on until in the 60's when the policy finally changed and now is one wife to every man, and the one child per family is still valid. Sad though... because every family is still favoring male child to carry the family name. Little girls are sent out into the road on a daily basis being run over by cars, trucks..... or whatever.

My own grandfather on my mom's side had 6 wives; and as far as I could remember, all wives were like sisters, playing mahjong all the time. They all lived in harmony.

Nice poem, very thought-provoking!

Very interesting stories...there is nothing so strange as real life...these verses illustrate the conundrums that we live...fine in one set of circumstances, religion or culture, not in another...if we live by the truth in our own hearts, then that is the best we can do...one of the best philosophical quotations I read was "the only absolute truth is that there are no absolute truths".....
