‘Little Children of Syria’
 
Flickering candles in the wind
Snow falling on butterflies
Broken on the wheels of war
Who dreams their lives?
In Syria
 
Fading light of hope
Silenced their lullabies
Suffer the little children
Who live and die
In Syria
 
Who writes their stories?
Who lights their world
When darkness falls?
Who sings their requiem?
In Syria

It is very tragic when all public opinion is against him, that a vain king can unleash torture and misery on his own people in some futile attempt to retain power that he should already know is lost. So, the little children suffer for his abuse.
