Childlike Feeling

It was a childlike feeling that came over me

As I danced barefoot in the hard pouring rain

Soaked to the bone I flit about

On a beautiful Sunday

And that it was!

By Jove it twas a lovely day

My nephew’s third birthday

Church was super special on this day

And everyone there was so happy

Then to come home and later getting rained on while mowing the lawn

A feeling of Baptism hit me all over again

Because, you see, I did not take the dip

I was sprinkled on after answering “yes” to the questions my preacher asked me

What a feeling it is to be drenched in a rain from the Heaven’s

Only God can bless us with something so sweet

I was looking for rainbows on that day

But what I had sought was ne’er to be found

It is alright though because my heart got a chance to sing

And I in myself felt like a child again

Though I do not recall pursing such a delight as this when I was younger

But as an adult perhaps it is better

Simply because I am born of more understanding and heart now

More than ever

Thank you, Jesus, for the blessing of rain

I might have still had a high lawn in spots

But I was feeling blessed more so

And that made it worth it ♥
