Hope Is In The Agile Mind

Can I be but an old man who thinks

that the setting sun is not the end.

That there are tomorrows quite bright

With the hope that shines within.

For many a day has gone so fast

That I can only catch today.

And it is in this day of hope

That I rest my weary head.

Not to dodge the outcome

For it was formed before I lay.

As even the bravest soldier

Must rest to face a new day.

You are so right. Time flies by so fast, but we still have to rest our weary head and sleep for the night, even if we have to get up now and then for our own protection.

Never let the setting sun despair you, George, although I know I don't have to remind you, the reading of this poem is proof of that.

Indeed ... remaining agile in thought and spirit requires discipline and diligence. Recently I ran into an old friend, once a vibrant and productive writer, who had just lost his spirit and desire to continue. Sad. Peace to you...
