A poem is usually a short story

With a beginning, middle and an end.

In many cases it may not follow

That exact format as a poet extracts words.

However it is written it has meanings

That are not too obvious but are there.

Some readers may see a poem

From their vantage point and it can be different.

It's fun to see different opinions

On a poem I write each day,

None are wrong of course-

The beauty of self expression.

I learn so much from my readers.

Much more than they are aware of.

For a poet is always growing

And the reader adds to that growth.
