As a demolition sergeant
We were called on to lay mine fields.
But never laid one in ww2.
Too busy removing the enemies.
This was a very stressful job,
As one false move and it was your last.
If you found a mine field
The simplest way was to blow it up.
Conditions dictated what course
Of action you had to take.
Just removing a mine seems simple,
But the enemy always had mines attached.
In other words one mine might have
Several, under or beside it.
Some times yards away in a ditch,
Where some would take cover.
When the mine was moved,
Those in the ditch blew up.
This only worked once,
But it had a deadly effect.
But through this poem which you have
written holds a deeper meaning...
One you are trying to convey which I understand...
Mankind can leave many a mine field laid before us
not in the actual parcel itself, but the "mind" field is much
stronger and able to trick quite sufficiently so all must be
careful when handling the "mind" of others....
being able to look for deeper meaning beyond which is presented...
Well done George :)
