Standing at the edge
Where below are ragged rocks.
Trusting the ledge is firm
Or I'll have bloody socks.
There the night wolf roams,
Seeking a free meal.
He lets out a howl
That would curdle your veins.
Woke me up one night
As I thought it was too real.
Got my rifle out, fully loaded;
Went to the ledge again, nothing there.
Suddenly behind me
I heard a low growl.
Quickly I turned
And shot a grizzly bear.
Connie
Love ya!
