There is power in every word said.

Some words build, others destroy.

Some words are soothing, even comforting.

They are filled with sweet aroma and bring tranquility to our very souls.

Harsh words cause mayhem in our souls, bringing the worst in us is their medal.

Encouraging words make us soar to new heights, like the eagles we soar high.

Words of constructive criticism, destroy the bad in us and build the very best in us.

Not all embrace words of constructive criticism,but the wise do.

Some words filled with blessings bring a new dawn in our lives.

Cursing words take us straight to hell on earth.

Words have power, power to make us soar or crush.

Watch how you utilise this precious gift!

Yes, words are crucial, and wonderful, depending on how they are employed...there is so much satisfaction in finding exactly the right word....words can soothe and uplift, empathise but destroy also....we who write have a profound task in making them say what we wish in the best way possible....I remember my delight in receiving my first 'Collins Gem Dictionary!....I still have it...

You have me tongue tied! I love curse words, not that I use them every day, but they make my vocabulary, while writing, much richer. I can understand why my voice system will not understand simple little words like, bull shipped. (See what I mean?)

I agree, there is great power in words. One should also not forget the person they are. It should match with the way they speak. It's not for a servant to speak like a director haha. Like the poem, Grtz, D.T.

The gift of words, indeed, is a responsibility not to be taken lightly. We should take a serious lesson from the 'First Poet'.("And God said") His words brought all things into existence. Your poem reflects wisdom. Something sore lacking in the world of modern poetry. richard
