After reading several of my new works
She tells me they are quite good
And I wonder about the word good
Are they good to her alone
Or would they be good to others
And by good does she mean that they
Are pleasant fulfilling revealing
Perhaps a particular one is almost great
So after asking her to define good
It takes several seconds in concentration
Then her words startle me
For in replying she satisfies this writer
With softly spoken simple and direct words
Saying - Your new book will sell very well
In appreciation I say that I may write
a poem about her - and would she like that
Write the poem William, from personal experience I have found it works! Goodness me maybe she will purchase a truckload to give to all her friends and donate to libraries. Waves of love }}}}}} Barbara.

Her not saying no is an invitation from one who truly appreciates and admires the work of the master poet. Her interest and willingness to read your gems is a rare and unique gift every poet needs to make him or her thrive. I love the centiment you create here.

Some people are incapable of anything but platitudes, and banal 'ho hums' that never really break the surface of anything. Very few people can actually open their hearts and souls and minds to glean and appreciate something deeper in what's written or created. I've come to realize that poetry is mostly written for poets. The general public really doesn't have a clue! Look at the poetry sections in book stores - they just keep shrinking. Soon the poetry section will be relegated to a card table in the bathrooms.
Our job is to keep writing and creating.
The symbiotic relationship between reader and writer is perplexing, and can create inordinate consternation if we try to intellectualize their reactions too much. Often the writer, or artist, wants to touch deeper than the audience is willing. Sometimes they're just a bunch of dumb shits that only understand another Vodka!
May all that is good keep your shoes spit-shined and free of mud great visionary.
I salute you most exemplary friend ...
I look forward to the write ...
