A justified ranting, if ever.....
Spell Of Spring Having had enough cold and wet days We're ready to enjoy outdoor warmth The kind we've dreamed about for All those miserable months of Winter Our answer is Spring with a capital 'S' Along with dreary days we're tired of Grammarians trying to change the way We spell the names of the four seasons In only days we will welcome Spring With all its freshness and beginnings A new start to bring us more warmth And outdoor activity with our friends In the gifts of Spring how could they Attempt to relegate these to a word Unfamiliar and without imagination Taking away its rightful capital 'S" F William Broome 2008

I leanred it a different way but when I am speaking to the season itself I always capitalize...Just from a different era I suppose. The poem hoever is great no matter which we do...

By the time the huge mounts of snow are melted, it will be winter again here, Unless it does come in with a capital S, Blessings!

Spring (the season) SHOULD be captitalized - it's birth! Renewal! Redemption from the dead of Winter. You know? Let it SPRING forth! (The only thing I don't want Springing forth is severe weather ... but living in Texas, we get that year 'round, worse in Spring.) Excellent write, Bill.
