Sir Bill, I think that your wise words reflect whom we are as writeers and that is the 'cross we bear' if we are to write our own little truths and demonstrate our ownn creative thinking.

Like you I have many who think everything I write is from personal experience. A lot of it is, but some of it isn't. It's my job as a poet to make them think I have felt the emotion I am wanting them to feel in the pit of my stomach or the depths of my soul. I have been told I do it very well, and so do you.

Hi Bill, that's the way of a writer, isn't it? I belong to a writer's group here. After I read one of my poems, this lady was irate with me, said she could never figure out who I was writing about and it made her mad! She was almost in tears. I had to explain to her that it wasn't to anyone in particular, I was just writing. sigh... hit a nerve i guess... Keep on .. love your writes...

Interesting write and one that says a lot about you actually, we all write I think in a combination of reality and imagination or at least I do. I think it is more important to write what we feel instead of what we think people want us to hear.
