A little birthday wish you might enjoy

Happy 80th Birthday Fran

Fran , she loves her roses , I reckon most wives do,
There ain’t nothing like a hug of welcome when home you’re coming to,

When you’ve brought home roses a red or pinkish hue,
Makes no difference what the colors are most any kind will do,

And it makes no difference the occasion or even none‘s Ok,
They just might say I love you in a special kind of way,

But I didn’t always have the roses for a special day,
Sometimes just forgetful, but really I can’t say,

That big ol’hug of welcome would always make my day,
I never needed roses her love was here to stay,

Well today I missed the roses for one more time again,
There’s some beauties on her bushes, maybe I could sneak them in,

But I won’t cut the roses, there’s no sense in doing that,
She will love them from the windows, blooming beauties where they’re at,

I know that Happy Birthday is always the thing to say,
But somewhere after eighty years, there’s gotta be another way,

When the fan-fare is all over and there’s no great grand kids on your lap,
Hit that ol’recliner and have a Happy Birthday nap,

I would tell her Happy Birthday ,and I love you dear,
But she’s asleep already. Too late for her to hear,

The kitchen’s a disaster, but I’ll leave things as they were,
My recliner ‘s looking lonely, I reckon I might join her,
