Each day you reach for something, sometimes you find some times you just take another fork in the road..

In the evening as I walked the slides of drink
I find the travel a little lost in place of mind

Hear the crying of a mother and child in the wind
How is it we slip from earth to heaven with out knowledge
In the sound of being a part of the living and the giving of like

Stillness engulfs me as I walk the paths of rightness falling short
Who was it that gave birth to the real world of existence

I heard a willow singing to the pine and the deer lets me wander
to a bar in the shallows of the drug induced world of woman and words
Slipping from the cart of real to the curb of falling down drunk

I tasted the songs of many who stuck to the fingers that played life
Never once understood all that talent laying next to the curb stoned

Sat in the bar lost in the gentle thought and music of great minds
Harden to the road of soul searching and giving better dreams
Listening to the beauty of living and carrying the last strum on a guitar

To drunk to sing but never to drunk to share the gift of sight explaining
wonder of life and living in the street of trouble never giving up on people

Always just one step from greatness left in the music placed in the mind
of those fortunate enough to be close enough to share in the gift. In my life
I have touched faith and love and never been able to get my fill of either

Mood and drink live in the past with all my lost friends and forgotten songsIn the evening as I walked the slides of drink
I find the travel a little lost in place of mind

Hear the crying of a mother and child in the wind
How is it we slip from earth to heaven with out knowledge
In the sound of being a part of the living and the giving of like
