Sometimes lovers are just that lovers, and nothing else, sometimes they are the best of friends and nothing else. Sometimes they are both. Just different times in their lives.

The morning breaks with the dawn
Once again I look you're gone
Life is a journey in time
Silver bells sing and your memories ring
I am holding you at Christmas time

The story is still the same
In lonely times you call my name
I know the world is full of love
I see the ornaments on the tree
The dove you named for me

It is as if you were still here
Your voice in the wind
The smell of love and sin
I just don’t know where to begin

You were the love of youth
I think some how you knew the truth
That we could not stand the test of time
For in your heart we grew loved liked dreamers do

I can’t believe there ever was a better time
Silver bells in the hall your smile upon the wall
It brings back joys I cannot claim
You are married now to the man down the hall

You pass under mistletoe
Passions explodes as you melt into my arms
It is the strangest thing even with a wedding ring
Our hearts as one still sing

As you use to say there is a time
And place each day for those we love
I still recall the love made in the hall
Silver bells and mistletoe

My older son blushes as you let words only you and I know
Talk bout the only man for who you could not stayed robed
There is a girlish giggle in your voice as you state there was no choice
Passion burned to the marrow of our bones

Quietly we slip away back to another day
The world is filled with joy
I look at ornaments hung almost on the moon and sun
Older now friends we are living off each other star
A parting kiss, a special bond
Life must move on
And I still recall silver bells and mistletoe
A very long time ago when we were young
