Equal But Not the Same

We were all given different shapes and abilities in the beginning and we chose the path to follow.

EQUAL BUT NOT THE SAME

When God sat down to make the world,

he took from every side

Some got more and some got less

but none were left denied

It wasn’t meant to be

that lives were filled with pain

Nor was it meant for us

to see nothing but the rain

But how could we know the pleasure,

of a simple, little smile

Or the feeling of a gentle touch,

not felt for quite awhile

Good times are not noticed

if they’re present everyday

But once in a while they’re needed

to wipe the tears away.

It’s the hard times that make us strong

 and able to withstand

The problems we must face,

dealt by our own hand.

Many times it's not our own hand but a smile will chase the blues away and not make an enemy.
