I Miss You
Mom I miss you but I'm trying
I swear,
living each day
hoping you're there.
I wonder if you hear me
when I call out your name,
if that dove in the yard
is you back again.
The red in the rose
of glorious bloom,
the afternoon shadows
that waltz in my room.
No matter the hour of
every day,
I search for your presence
and secretly pray.
That somewhere you're watching
because I have to believe,
you're up there in heaven
waiting for me.
